Cookies For Santa

Santa will get an assortment of delicious treats tonight as he visits good little boys and girls all across the world, and our house will be no exception.

Garren and Gracie made Neman Marcus cookies this afternoon in preparation for Santa's big night. Garren is actually the head of this tradition , since he has been making these cookies for longer than we have been together. This year Gracie really got to help out. She was excited to mix the ingredients and help cut the butter. She even got a chance to use the mixer. The cookies came out delicious, and are ready for Santa to sample.

Tonight, following the great cookie-bake-- we ate dinner, watched the Grinch Who Stole Christmas (Suess' version) and read the Christmas story from the Bible. We topped off the evening by leaving a letter, plate of cookies and glass of milk for Santa. But, Gracie didn't go to bed without first finding out where Santa was. Garren found a site on NORAD that tracks the jolly elf, so they had to take a peek (he was in Peru if you are wondering).

Gracie is off to bed, and hopefully asleep tonight. Garren is watching Christmas in St. Olaf, and I am starting to get more excited about the morning ahead. I am still sorry that we missed an entire holiday season at church, but this beautiful music is starting to do the trick for my Christmas spiritlessness.

Garren, Gracie and I wish all of you lots of love and joy for the remainder of the season.

I have put Christmas pictures on Picasa (click here and look for Christmas 2006), and below is a cute video of Gracie and Daddy mixing the batter. Hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas!
