Valentine's Mini Party

You don't have to be home to have a party--especially when you've got grandparents who love to spoil you!

Even though mom had already sent Gracie goodies for Valentine's Day (which arrived the morning after we got to Lynchburg), the day did not go un-celebrated.

Tonight, I baked some Valentine's sugar cookies, which Gracie sprinkled; and we had an informal Valentine's party with a few close friends.

In attendance were Lambie, Clifford, Dora, Curious George, Mumble and a slew of other famous stuffies. Grandma, Grandpa and I also attended the quaint celebration.

Gracie, the guest of honor, was showered with gifts (apparently grandma will use all sorts of excuses to buy for her grandchildren) and sugary sweets.

Grandpa had already given Gracie not one, but two Valentine's hearts filled with way too much sugar. One was a Dora box of yogurt covered raisins, the other a chocolate-filled heart that included a stuffed Woodstock. Among the gifts that were opened at the party: a new ballet leotard and skirt, stickers, Backyardigans book, and an Eyeore shirt.

Gracie did have a good time, and she was very surprised to see that I had set up all of her "guests" in the kitchen for the party.

We hope that all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day as well, and for those of you who sent Gracie Valentine's I promise we will open those and have another mini-celebration when we return to Strasburg. (Even Mommy & Daddy's gifts and cards haven't been given yet!)
