Second Advent Week
Each year we do the candles, and we have since Gracie was very young. In the beginning I made my own "wreath," but when Gracie was about 4 our dear friends the Mozingo's gave us this beautiful permanent wreath that we love to pull out every year.
I always find Bible verses to go with our lighting tradition, this year I am using the kids version from Upper Room's "Pockets" to go along with our weeks. It has great kid-friendly wording so Gracie can read it and Thomas can understand.
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

I like this idea! We've lit the Advent candle at church as a family in the past, but Bryce has never heard the meaning behind all the candles. Maybe we'll start a new tradition next year!
