Olympic Champion

Well, she was on the second place team, but I always think of her as our little champion.

We are so proud of our Gracie. Reading Olympics is a 4th and 5th grade competition inside her school. All students are divided into teams and they pick a captain, and collectively they have to read all 40 RO books before the end of March (It appeared to have been 15-20 kids per team).  During the competition (which was all day today) they compete by answering questions based on the books, which they started reading around October.

Our Gracie read over 20 books from the list and we were so excited that she did at least half of the entire list!

When I arrived at the school for the medal ceremony, Gracie's teacher told me that her team and another team were involved in the biggest & closest tie breaker in school history.  Apparently it took more than 30 question to break the tie from these two awesome groups of kids. Gracie and her team came in second place over all, but they were still so excited.

I watched as Gracie and her friends got their medals before returning home to finish up birthday party preparations.

We are so proud of you Gracie! Way to go!!
