Just Keep Reading

Mrs. Carolyn had her hands full today.

A mom's cell phone rang, and when she left the room to answer it her child stood at the door and shouted through the glass "why are you out there mommy?!"

Mrs. Carolyn keep reading.

Kids giggled, kids talked, kids wiggled, kids walked around.

Mrs. Carolyn kept reading.

At least three kids scooted stools along the floor and grinned at the loud squeak the noise made

Mrs. Carolyn kept on reading.

One child tried to bite another child not related or known to him.

Other moms gasped. Mrs. Carolyn kept reading.

The room was bursting at the seems with children not paying attention and parents not being very helpful in keeping their kids still and quiet.

But, Mrs. Carolyn kept reading.

Another cell phone rang and rang and rang...louder and louder and when the lady realized it was hers she answered it out loud in the room.

And, Mrs. Carolyn kept reading.

I can laugh now, but man was it crazy today! We love going to story time and during the school year it is NOTHING like this. Kids are well behaved and sit quietly, parents participate and be sure to quiet their little ones if they forget their manners. And, it isn't like the kids sit still all 30 minutes. They do "exercises," pick their favorite songs to sing, and they do a craft!

Thomas was a good boy in all the chaos, as was best friend Bryce, and preschool friend Paige.  Thankfully these three love and respect Mrs. Carolyn. I kind of guess that is a big reason why she kept on reading.

  1. I'm so over parents and children that have no respect!!! We need more parents like you to teach manners! People will cell phones are so rude. When I am visiting with someone or in a place like church, the funeral home, or library, my phone is on silent or in my car.
