Lunch With Thomas

Thomas wanted me to stay for lunch Tuesday when I came and helped him shop in the holiday shop, but I had several more things to do that day, so not thinking, I said "how about another day?"  Well, Grace was there and she said that maybe she and Jason would come in Friday and have lunch with Bryce. And, then it Thomas wanted to do lunch then to and I said "okay," completely forgetting that I had planned Gracie's class party for this morning.

But, I was quick on my feet, and I actually had a few hours to kill after cleaning up Mrs. Madison's room before I needed to return and have lunch with him.  So, I got a little shopping done and I picked up his Subway sandwich that he had requested.

I knew he wanted Subway, but as he climbed the bus this morning he shouts "I want the BIG one mom!" After a few minutes puzzled, I realized he was telling me he wanted a foot long sub.

I knew he wouldn't eat it all, but I granted his request.

Now, if we were at home he would eat it. But there is too much to see and be distracted by at school and hardly anything gets eaten at all in the lunchrooms!

He was thrilled to see me waiting for him.  Grace, Jason, Emmy and I took over the "Peanut Table" as the only (small) parent table was full and there isn't enough room to sit with the kids class as there are 24 kids!!

Thomas picked at his sub and scarfed his chips while Bryce ate his McDonald's Happy Meal.

It was a loud lunch visit, hence why I rarely (and selfishly) don't join my kids for lunch at school, but I enjoyed my time with him.

In addition to his his sandwich I brought him a rose plant to give to Mrs. Naff for her Christmas present, so after she received his pretty gift I said my goodbyes and went home to chill until the kids got off the bus.

Unfortunately I hadn't packed the car for Lynchburg yet, so I spent my "extra" time packing.  Busy Friday!
