Gracie's 11th Snowy Birthday
It wasn't exactly what she was hoping for.
She didn't get to celebrate with her friends at school.
School Closed.
She didn't get to wear her new fancy dress and dress shoes.
Snow.
She didn't get to go out to eat for her birthday dinner.
Icy Roads.
But, she didn't let that stop her from celebrating her 11th year on this earth. It didn't stop us either.
Mommy trimmed and washed her hair salon style, and then did her nails. I made her spaghetti for dinner (her favorite food), and since we couldn't really celebrate the way wanted to, mommy used the back up cake mix in the pantry and made her some cupcakes and put candles on top to blow out. She made her wishes while wearing pajamas and the movie Frozen was on pause.
Our neighbor's who have a daughter in Kindergarten and have gotten close to Gracie & Thomas stopped by in the snow to drop off an epic birthday present as well. Gracie (of course) wants a Frozen bedroom, and while she has the sheets, Cheyenne made sure her room was even more Frozen and gave her the matching bedspread as a gift.
I washed her sheets and made her bed while she finished the movie. She went to bed super happy, and while it wasn't what we planned, it ended up being a pretty awesome day.
