Back To School Night

There are always such great treasures awaiting us parents at Back to School Night.  And,  Mrs, Tapper did not disappoint this year!

When I arrived there was an "assignment" awaiting us parents. We had to glue together a puzzle that this kids had created. How cute!

In addition to the sweet puzzle about Thomas, I also got other "mommy goodies" to take home. Oh how I love this age when they can write what they are thinking!
1) nervous, new stuff, Mrs. Tapper, Second Grade, Recess
2) "I sucked on my thumb"

3) "Having a new bus driver," "Mrs. Tapper would look like a blue shirt and black pants and red shoes," "The best part of today was learning about math and lunch."

Who Is That Baby?!

I love that I captured this after bath time this evening.

Typically I take him into my room and lay him on the bed to apply lotion and a diaper and his pajamas, but tonight, I sat him on the bathroom counter to dry and lotion him and he for the first time saw his reflection.

I always keep my phone near me in case daddy calls or texts, I am so glad it was in arms reach tonight.

These are great photos, but it was so fun watching him try to figure out that baby in the mirror!

Sweetest Moment

I captured this moment by accident--and quite frankly by fate.  I LOVE how this photo captures so much between Gracie and her baby brother.

When I posted it on Facebook I shared how much I loved the moment frozen forever in time, but I hated that there was a mess all around the background of the picture.

It didn't take me long to see that beautiful moments can't be staged or re-arranged. This perfect snapshot of a sister playing for her brother who is so intently listening to her sweet music overshadows the mess that is going on behind it.

I will forever treasure this photo.

Sooooo BIG!

9 Month Check Up

Mommy's chunk continues to grow and grow and grow!

I was slightly surprised that his height seemed to slow down, but that chunky body and big ole' head keep on chugging along at the top of the charts.

Poor baby got 3 vaccines and a Flu shot. But, in typical Tobias fashion he was all cried out and back to his happy self by the time I had him dressed.

I never get tired of hearing strangers tell me "what a happy baby!"  Yup, he is, and I love it!

I am LOVING this homework assignment!

Our children's names are very special to us, and I loved having another opportunity to tell Thomas why and how he got his name!

Sunday Smiles (For Mommy)

Just when I think my heart can't get any more full....

Gracie Joins The Youth Group

It's a year late, but Gracie decided she was ready to join the youth group. We are super proud of her for stretching her self and her confidence this far. And bonus, best friend from elementary school Clara will be going on Sunday nights too!

Now, It took everything in me not to sneak in and take a million photos, but I knew that this would be crossing the line.  But, God rewarded my restraint.

Our Associate Pastor was present for the Youth kick off and took pictures for us moms!  Yea!!!

Sunday Blues

Aren't my boys super cute?!!!

Snuggles & Hugs With Pastor Jay

My cup runneth over.

I love how there are several people in our lives that love our children. They don't have to. They aren't related by blood and there is no obligation to even like them, yet love pours from them straight to all three of my children.

You can't ask for more than that. It is a gift that can never been repaid.

Mother Goose Story Time...6 years later

It's Tobias' turn for Mother Goose story time at the library.

I still remember taking Thomas to Mother Goose not long after we moved here. Gracie was in 1st grade and  I was looking for something to do with him at home. He loved it, and we did story time nearly every week it was offered until he started Kindergarten.

Mother Goose is designed for babies aged 6 months to 24 months.  After that there is a toddler story time and a preschool story time with Mrs. Carolyn who is our favorite!

I saw Mrs. Carolyn today and told her that a year and a half is too long to wait for her story times! I guess we will just have to be patient!

Tobias seemed to be indifferent to the story time, but he was good and sat and listened.  I hope as the weeks progress he will get more "in to it."

Church Block Party 2016

I think this is our 3rd time participating since we started going to Shady Grove. I know we skipped the year Gracie broke her arm, but typically we try to go.  The kids always have fun!

National Teddy Bear Day

Couldn't pass up a chance to celebrate teddy bears! Especially not when they are $5 at Build-A-Bear!

Of course I hadn't planned on such a crowd! I took Tobias early knowing that they didn't open until 9, but he takes a pretty early nap, so I wanted to get in and out. We arrived about 10 minutes early and found ourselves around 10th in line!

Crazy!

But, since he is little and had no interest in the stuffing process, we were able to score the last special edition Teddy Bear day teddy!  This store was only given 5 to hand out, and we were too far back in line, but she did say we could buy the one already stuffed and on display. Score!

We got out of the stuffing line as it was backed up since each person was buying the limit of 5 each!!!!  We made our way to the computer and named our special bear "Ya Ya." I figure since that is all he says all day, it was a perfect fit.

And, yes, I dressed him in brown to look like a mini teddy bear himself!

Welcome to the family "Ya-Ya!"
