Baby's Fist Halloween

Free kids pancakes at IHOP for Halloween. Why not!  And, lets take Rachael too.  Guess who LOVED his first taste of whipped cream?!!

Halloween fun is always best with friends!  Bryce is in the Lego man costume, we stopped at Mrs. Tappers house to Trick or Treat (Thomas' teacher), and while the big kids kept on getting goodies, Tobias and I drove over to Mrs. Jo's and Pastor Jay's house for a last show off of Mommy's homemade Dalmatian costume before we crashed--hard.

Pumpkin Painting At School

Love when other moms share with me! It's been so hard not being able to be room mom this year.  I have done it every year for one or both kids :/

Thomas was clearly hard at work making his pumpkin masterpiece at school today. Now, if only he hadn't picked that shirt to wear :/

Tobias' 1st Hair Cut

I was loving the curls! But, daddy was ready to tame the mane.

So, off we went to Pigtails and Crewcuts, the same place that gave Thomas his first hair cut at a year and half. (That's probably why daddy was so adamant, I couldn't bear to cut Thomas' hair and he ended up with a LOT before I finally caved)

Tobias was super good, by baby standards, for his hair cut.

He enjoyed playing with the toys waiting for his turn, oblivious to what was about to happen.

Being smart ladies, they snapped the picture for the keepsake that you get when you order the "1st haircut" package before she got those scissors going.

But, really, he cried a bit, but after he got his binky and as long as I stayed right beside him he was fine in the fire truck. He would cry when the cape covered his hands and he couldn't turn the wheel, but that was about it.

I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for his behavior, because older brother screamed at the top of his lungs for the entire first haircut and in the end was covered in cut hair stuck to his face by tears and snot. Lets just say I left a HUGE tip that day.

Back to Tobias...we left with a happy baby and face-timed daddy from the car so he could see the finished product.

I asked the ladies to save me a curl when the picked out hair for the baggy (also included in your 1st hair cut package) and they did.

I'm not in a rush to go back, but these people will continue to get baby's business until he's at least 3 and can go with daddy and brother to Sport Clips

Gracie's Fall Violin Concert

Gracie has been super excited getting ready for this violin concert.

Like last year they get to dress up in costumes, and she has had her heart set on Ariel (with legs) to be this year.

Like a good mama, I spent this week sewing her a dress and bow. And like an even better mama I Face-timed Grandma at the concert so she could watch from the comfort of her home in Lynchburg!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

These boys! They love any chance they have to share time together.

Every year for Parent/Teacher conferences, Grace and I take turns watching all 4 (now 5) kids and going to our conference without kids. It works well, and this year out plan was to let them play on the playground since it is outside both of their rooms and we would just swap supervision.

Well, the weather had other plans in mind. A fierce downpour coupled with thunder put a damper on our plans, but the kids didn't seem to mind pushing Tobias through the school hallways and chatting up teachers as they waited (mostly) patiently for Grace and I to both have our turns.

Thomas (as I expect!) is a great student and little person. He is doing exceptionally well in math, and he is well above his expected reading level. So, I left my conference a proud mama. And I know Grace well, and Bryce too, and there is no way she didn't leave super proud as well!

Mommy's Little Peanut

I have been wanting to do this since I saw it on Pinterest when Tobias' was an infant! We borrowed Mallory's Snoopy and I found a yellow onsie to add to, and "viola!"

Cutest Pumpkin In The Patch!

I scored this 12 month sized pumpkin costume for $2 the same day Thomas found his police hat. And even though he isn't going to be a pumpkin for his first Trick or Treating I just had to get it!

I was sure I was going to have to use a lot of Crisco to get him in it since he is sized 18 months right now! But, a little pushing and folding and bending got him in it and ready for a precious photo shoot!!!

Story Time With The Parachute

We got to play with the parachute today!

So cute and so fun!

Tobias was really taking it all in, but he wouldn't hold the handle himself, which is kind of odd because he will grab a hold of just about anything and not let go!

Mrs. Hooper played music and we waved the parachute up and down, and mommy found ways to snap pictures at the same time!

The kids were given a chance to go under it at the end, but Tobias was happy to just hang with mommy and watch her wave the colors all around.

Hat Day For Thomas

Thomas earned a "hat day" for this week through earning "money" for good deeds, on time assignments, etc.

Just like his mama, he cant do anything half-way.

He chose to wear the "police" hat he found at a thrift store with me earlier this month, but didn't want to wear it without his Sheriff's badge!

Now I couldn't find the expensive one he got from Bass Pro with his name on it, so I had to quickly hot glue a safety pin to the back of the plastic one he had in the dress up bin.  He was slightly disappointed, but he moved on... out the door and on to the bus.

Family Too

The best part about going to pick apples is getting those much needed hugs from "family!"

While I love the apples and the picking experience, my heart and soul are refilled each visit to Strasburg because I can see the people that made it "home" for me.
