Annual Church Block Party

We have attended the "Block Party," at our church for many years now as a family, but since I was on the committee that planned it this year--it was more of a behind the scenes kind of day.

Daddy stayed home with baby, and Gracie was performing with her Youth Band, and I was one of a few managing the event, so that left Thomas--who was repeatedly told about what he could and couldn't do while Gracie and I were busy.

But, as usual, Thomas shows me that I am wrong about his abilities. Every time I turned around he was helping one group or another set up for the party. Well, he was helping and supervising at the same time. Such a little Dennis Miller! And, by the time the event started he was showing the Senior group how to use the popcorn machine and he was scooping out ice for snow cones! That little boy, is such a good one. He never fails to amaze us!

And, he did work most of the party! He went off to play and bounce with about 45 minutes left in the party.

And my Gracie, she and her group played for an hour under the pavilion for encouraging crowds, and then she went and had fun with friends.

Of course, both of them found time to get on the jousting inflatable and pound each other.

It was a very successful day, and let me tell you I am exhausted and my feet are killing me! I am proud to serve and help, but it was much more fun on the other side of the event.
