April Showers Brings May Germs

So, Thomas being cold while volunteering on Sunday wasn't a whiny thing.

His headache went away Sunday and I sent him on to school Monday morning because he was bright eyed and cheery.

So, you can imagine my surprise when the school nurse called at 11 saying he had a fever of 102.

In an attempt to keep Tobias safe from germs, Garren took Thomas to the pediatrician yesterday at 3. We figured he probably had yet another sinus

infection.

Nope. Garren comes home and says "don't panic. It's strep."

I can't remember ever seeing my boy this sick.  He has slept for most of 2 days, he won't eat and he just lays around.

And, he isn't the only kid out of Mrs. Tapper's 1st grade class.  There were 9 kids out today. This email came out today. I don't even want to know what those kids did Friday after Field Day to pass around this many germs!

**UPDATE: by Friday 11 kids were out of Tapper's class, making it 50% of the class. Most have either the flu, strep or both. And after comparing notes, I think Thomas had the flu as well.  Our pediatrician didn't test him for that, but others were tested for both, had similar symptoms and tested positive for both!**
