Exciting Day
(Insert sarcasm here)
Our day started off like this...all smiles after a nice morning play date with preschool friend Rebecca, her baby sister Rachael and the preacher's wife (who keeps them a few days a week).
And it ended like this...
Yep, we were in the hospital.
Waiting for x-rays.
Because we were sure that Thomas had broken his leg and/or foot again.
From what I can surmise, Thomas was standing on Gracie's bed, somehow fell over the edge from a standing position, flipped over the rail and landed head first on the floor followed by his feet hard on the floor or wall.
I heard the thud. Then the loud scream. And, then still an hour later he couldn't put weight on it.
5 hours later we are home being told there were no fractures in his foot, but he had some damage to his toes (possibly broken) but she wanted to avoid a cast unless he continued to be in pain or wouldn't walk on it.
BOYS!!
I have noticed though he is curling his toes up on that foot (the right one), so I will continue to keep an eye on him, and his foot.
In the meantime he has been told to never ever stand or jump on the bed again.
I guess it could have been worse...we could have repeated this and dealt with a cast for the first day of Kindergarten!

2 hours later we were at the pediatrician who was optimistic it wasn't broken, but concerned enough to order x-rays.
3 hours later we had x-rays done.
4 hours later we were sill waiting for results.

6 hours later he hears he is fine and gets up and runs around--after I have carried his 50 pound body all over Mechanicsville. He was in pain until I told him the Dr. said it wasn't broken. I guess he figured it wouldn't hurt any more.

So glad he is okay!
