Wet Tuesday
Not a great way to start Spring Picture Day, but then again it poured on Fall Picture Day, so I should have been prepared. Of course, I only buy spring pictures (I have a long diatribe about this, but I will spare you ;)
Despite the rain my kids looked great decked out for their photo shoot. But, after this picture was taken, my day got hectic, soggy, and muddy.
By the time we reached the bus stop it was POURING, and I am not exaggerating. Well, I caved and let the kids take small umbrella with them. I never allow the umbrellas to go to school because I am sure they will 1) lose them 2) soak themselves and back backs in the process 3) poke someone's eye out.
MES has an open campus structure, and it was picture day--so again, I caved as the bus pulled up. Now, between the frenzy, the down pour and worrying about someone on the bus losing an eye as Thomas took control of the umbrella I didn't notice Chewey got on the bus.
I did notice after the doors were closed and the bus pulled away.
So, now I am wet, and Chewey, Thomas' most prized possession and best friend is on his way to Kindergarten. We can NOT lose Chewey.
I got to have Rachael for the day today while her mama worked and Ms. Jo was busy, so she and I made the rescue trip to the school.
We were surprised to NOT find Chewey in Kindergarten. Thomas informed us that Gracie saw Chewey on the bus and knew that he would be safest in her possession.
Thomas has a great big sister, and we sure enough found our fuzzy stow away in 5th grade.
What a tale this dog could tell.
Rachael and I had to entertain ourselves inside today since it was still pouring, and we found some ways to pass the time while waiting for mama to get off work.
And, she let me take tons of pictures of her for practice with my new "precious."
While it is raining (pouring at times) it is also uncomfortably hot out there. My car read "70" at one point today. So, why not let the kids play in the rain?!!
They jumped at the chance to get wet and wild in the front yard, and jumped in muddy mud puddles. This was fun to watch from my front porch because Thomas hates to get dirty and it took a LOT of convincing from sister to get him to even stick his toes in the mud. I think the promise from Gracie that she would clean him up when they were done helped a great deal.
It was a busy, wet, soggy day. But, hey, in every life a little rain must fall, and it might as well be warm enough outside to enjoy it.
