Birthday After Pains
So apparently 40 is much like 39.364. So, I guess I’ve “got this.”
Unfortunately I caught Nikki Lamkin Greer’s headache around 10:30 yesterday morning and it never went away despite my medicinal attempts.
Tobias didn’t take a nap so he was an extra large pain, I only got about an hour to myself for birthday “shopping,” no one felt like going out to dinner with me last night so I hit a drive thru with the baby in the car seat so no one has to deal with him, and I went to bed around 8:30 without a cake or singing or cards from my family.....
BUT:
I was surprised with a cookie “cake” yesterday morning at my moms
church group, I was given a gift card to my FAVORITE place ever:
Joann’s. I was stopped and wished Happy Birthday by most of the church
staff and members I crossed paths with. My friends and extended family
gifted me over 47 yards of fabric this past week, and my friend Grace
brought me a DQ ice cream “cupcake” (which hopefully I can eat solo
today.) Not to mention the tons of texts, FB posts and calls I got.
When I get panicked about my age and all the time that has been “lost,” I’ll think back on all the friends that I have made and who still like me even when I make cracks about 40 being old!!!
