Turkey Party

Gracie and I had the "girls' over for pre-Thanksgiving tea party, or "turkey-party" this afternoon. We had our usual guests, plus 2 more that came all the way from Florida to play with us. Well, actually they are Mallory's cousins in for the holidays, but they came over to play with us anyway ;)

The girls got to eat their snacks at a min-table in the living room while enjoying "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." After plenty of goodies, we made an adorable craft. The idea just kind of hit me, and I used Dora yogurt cups and construction paper and had the girls make their own "turkey of thanks." On each feather that they attached to the turkey they wrote something that they were thankful for. They turned out pretty cute. I helped Gracie with hers, and she even "wrote" a few herself. I have no idea what they say, but I know she is truly thankful for getting to use the marker by herself!

After raft-time, I read 2 adorable stories about Thanksgiving and we let the girls play. It was a fun afternoon, and I am so glad that we got to share this time together. I for one am very thankful for my dear neighbors and the tea parties that we share.
