Long Weekend With Grandma

So apparently I didn't take many pictures this extended trip--despite the fact that the "action" never ended.

While, we love visiting Grandma & Grandpa anyway, this trip had more of a "purpose." Uncle Brian had talked me into hosting a yard sale at moms with all of our collective family junk. So, much of the week I spent sorting, carting, hauling and pricing, and sweltering while the kids swam and were spoiled with sugar.

We did okay at the Yard sale. Broke $150, which wasn't bad since the entire morning/early afternoon we battled monsoons!!  We have the worst yard sale luck!  Seriously it down-poured the entire time, and I am thankful Brian brought his 3 canopies.

So, other than getting soaking wet, sweltering hot, and watching the kids swim, those two nasty, pesky drama-educing front teeth of Thomas' FINALLY came out!

Our little toothless wonder some how survived the ordeal. I don't think I can adequately help you visualize Thomas and losing teeth. He is terrified of blood, and he screams louder than any girl and at 2 points in the last 2 weeks, dude hyperventilated. No kidding!  This kid can not handle a lost tooth.

But, they are out now, and the junk is out of the basement, and our Mechanicsville home (at least for the next few weeks) has had a huge makeover. Daddy joined us for 2 days and the kids are already asking when we can go back.

Thanks mom and dad for helping take care of the kids, and for spoiling them.

Splash Park Fun

Thanks for the invite guys! We had a great time.

Who knew it would be hot enough at 9:30 in the morning to splash?!

I guess on a day expected to reach 100 degrees, you can kind of expect that.

We All Got Issues

With everything I have on my plate right now, the last thing I needed to do was take an hour (or three) to fix the mess that was Thomas' Legos.

As I mentioned in the title of this post: we all got issues, and him not displaying his Lego's the "right way," is one of mine.

They are fixed now, and everyone is happy living in their correct Lego World environment. The fire people are with their vehicles and department, the police with their people, the boats in or near the water, the bad guys all near their hideouts.  Life is nice and neat and perfectly it should be.

Long Hiatus (Too Long)

Our lives are crazy busy, crazy exhausting, crazy stressful, and just plain crazy right now.  But, at least I can breathe--for a few minutes.

I hadn't blogged in over a month. A month! That's 30 days of lost pictures and memories.

Well, not exactly lost, but not recorded "in the moment."

We truly have a lot on our plates right now, and the end of the school year made our lives even more hectic.

Now, I doubt you have been waiting with waited breath to see and hear what we are doing, but here is how much we had going on.

Gracie got glasses, had a recorder concert, performed the National Anthem at a Squirrel's Game, had a 5th grade fun day (for which I was on the committee and planned), had a not-a-graduation "moving up ceremony," had a break down on the last day of school, learned to love water slides, and continues to tolerate her brother.

Thomas continued to countdown the ABC's of the end of the school year, went on a final field trip with his kindergarten class, had a mini-graduation (that I begged for, planned, and created), made the cover of the MES yearbook, and went to Bible School with Bryce for a week.

And, in addition to carting them to all of these things, I....created, planned & implemented a mini-Kindergarten graduation, handmade 22 felt graduation caps, joined the 5th grade graduation committee and planned and implemented 5th grade fun day, made Gracie a not-a-graduation dress, drove the kids to Grandma's for Memorial Day Weekend, took them to a water park, filled and cleaned up the kiddie pool on the deck 10+ times, attended a Squirrel's game, a recorder concert, a "moving up ceremony," mini-kindergarten graduation, and Bible School finale. I took pictures at school, after school, and every where in between. I created my first diaper cover and filled a 1st birthday order. I went to Paint Night and dinner with Grace, kept everyone as sane as possible, packed boxes, cleaned extra hard for a house showing (at this house!)...and oh so much more.

So, maybe you'll forgive my delay in updating you.  But, most of all that activity is now on the blog and ready for you to view. Of course the pictures and tales only tell of the best parts of each experience.

Bible School With Bryce & Cheyenne--Finale

Tonight was the last night of Bible School and all of the kids were so excited to show us parents what they had learned.

Just like years before each class took a turn on the stage leading the other kids in a song they had learned earlier in the week.

The performance comes just after everyone is fed dinner, and just before the ice cream truck arrives.

Mechanicsville Church of Christ sure does know how to celebrate God in a big way for the youngest among us.

Thomas had a great time as always, and we are so pleased that Cheyenne loved the week as well!

Thank you Bryce for sharing this week and your church with Thomas for the 3rd year in a row!

Bible School With Bryce & Cheyenne, Night 1

I was hoping that we could get this week in before we moved, and now that we have pushed our move back until the end of July--we were able to do it more comfortably.

I wanted these two best friends to have one more week together before they had to say goodbye.

We didn't plan anything for this week, as I knew Bible School would require a great deal of energy since it was at the end of the day.

Cheyenne was over today before it was time to have dinner and asked if she could go too. I was more than happy to take her and glad that all three Kindergarteners could stay in a group together.

This year Grace and Jason got to stay with the Kindergarten class and walk them to their nightly stations, so she got the job of sharing pictures with me!

I was thrilled that she got some great ones of our boys, and Cheyenne too.

I think they are going to have a super fun week!

I am always thankful this church lets our Thomas in for these special events and days even though we aren't members. They always open their doors and hearts to our special little boy, and that makes us so happy--and of course makes him elated.

Water Park Fun

The money we made from the yard sale was earmarked for Cobblestone.  That's a local water park that I have been wanting to take the kids to since we moved here in August of 2010.

We haven't been yet.

So, on to the Richmond Bucket List it went, and the kids excitedly wanted to use their yard sale money for admission.

We were going to go today!

Thankfully and unfortunately, I looked the website for hours of operation, only to find out they don't open 7 days  a week until NEXT week!!

So, plan B.

Pocahontas State Park. They have a water "park" inside the actual wooded park and we have been once before.

It was a 45 minute ride out there, but it was well worth it!

We all had a great time and the kids loved it.

I had invited Cheyenne and her mom to go with us if they wanted to Cobblestone, and then they were game with the change in plans.

We spent several hours splashing in the water and thoroughly enjoying ourselves.

I even took time to go down one of the water slides!

Gracie had been thinking about it all day, and she finally got brave and tried it.  Then she raced back to the end of the line, and ended up going down 10 more times during our stay! She is hooked, and can't wait to find more water slides this summer.

I think we will definitely have to plan this water outing again this summer. It was a wonderful day, even with a little sunburn (we re-applied 3-4 times, but that sun was crazy and mama can't reach her back!!)

Last Day Of School

This morning....

This afternoon...

Gracie has a habit of breaking down on the last day of school.  Although, I think today's meltdown was pretty epic.

I can't say I blame her. It is the end of an era. The end of elementary school, the end of one teacher and one classroom, the last day with all of her friends. (Even if we weren't moving, MES is divided among 2 middle schools).

Happy last day of school.

*Thomas did not cry, but he raced off the bus to let us know that Gracie and Cheyenne were crying. I am pretty sure Cheyenne was sobbiong because Gracie was. She told her mom: "I am crying because Gracie & Thomas won't be on the bus with me next year."
