Gracie's Ready For Summer
From family email May 31, 2005:
It been a while since I sat down and sent out an email and pictures. There seems to be so little time left after a day (and night) of chasing a toddler! Gracie is doing very well--she's into everything!!!! Now that summer is nearly here, she has been able to play in the water more often. I have a "pool" (it's a Rubbermaid under-bed storage container) on the back deck where she splashes and plays with water toys. Although, the past two weekends we let her wade in the river at the park--and now she's addicted. Tonight we actually let her get all the way in the water (Garren held her the entire time!), and as usual she did not want to get out. Next week we will be going to mom and dads, and I am sure she will get plenty of water time there.
We spent last week in TN and we plan to return maybe the 4th of July to see friends and family again.
For those of you haven't seen Gracie in awhile--we are up to 12 teeth and she runs everywhere--she pretty much skipped walking and started running!! She growing more too. She's in a 2T and now in size 5 shoes, and she's only 14 months!!! She weighs in at 25lbs and is 32inches. That was April 22nd, so I am sure she's bigger now. But she's still beautiful--at least we think so.
Things are going well for Garren and I too. Garren finally got the political reporting job he's always wanted. The Northern Virginia Daily (where he has been working), moved him from Bureau Chief to Richmond/political reporter. We are very happy--he is loving poking his nose in to the political world--I take that back, he loves getting paid now to poke his nose in the political world--Garren always has been a junkie!
Be sure to stay in touch with us--it gets lonely here in northern Virginia without friends and family. Although, I finally made a real friend last month when I baked a loaf of bread for our neighbor who told us she was pregnant. She's 23 and chatty like me--so, I now get it out of my system before Garren gets home from work!
I hope you are all well. I am sending some pictures with this email including a good one from tonight's swim. I call it a creek--but Garren corrects me and says it is a river. I hope you enjoy them.
Love to you all,
Barbara, Garren & Gracie
