Toys Before Christmas?!

Gracie and I wanted out of this house today! We had been cooped up for far too long because of this nasty cold (of which Gracie never got and I still have the cough). Anyway, we nixed the library idea; after all we are just now getting better, lets not add more germs in to the mix! So, Gracie and I went, where else, but our favorite second hand stores.

Per our usual agreement, she is patient while I look at books, and then she gets to look through the toys. Sometimes I will find a clean puzzle and get it for her, but today while I was watching her pick up various toys and start playing, I found the mother-load! Well, okay I was excited. The first thing I spotted was the Fisher Price farm. We have the farm, in fact I bought it from another thrift store. But, we don't have the animals, and you can't find them anywhere. Plus, now all of those Little People animals have fur and hair. What were they thinking! Germ-a-polooza!! Anyway this farm had several of the original animals, a farmer, and an attatched garden...all for $4! So I didn't have to think twice about that deal. When I turned around to let a lady through the very tight isles, I saw the Calliou tree house sitting behind me. This set had Calliou and his sister Rosie and it looked like it had never been played with. When I showed Gracie she was ready to check it out. The tree house was only $5, another HUGE steal.

It was a long ride home this afternoon as Gracie wanted desperately to play with her new tree house. When we got home I cleaned off the dust (I clean everything I get from thrift stores with baby wipes!) and Gracie had hours of fun sending Calliou down the slide and reeling him up the rope swing.

These were two awesome toys that I couldn't pass up. A smart mommy would have put the tree house away for Christmas, but like I said it was a long ride home as Gracie couldn't wait to play. So, I guess Santa visited our house a little early this year ;)
