Baby's First Antibiotic

I don't think there is a place for that in the baby book--is there?

I also don't think there is a description for the flip flop that your heart does when your child's school calls you at home (or work).

For the FIRST time EVER in my children's school history, I was called to pick one up.

Shayna, the director at Kitty's Kids called just 45 minutes before pick up time to tell me Thomas was saying he didn't feel good and wanted to go home.

Well, Thomas has been battling cold and cough and allergy for the past three weeks, and I really thought he was getting better.

She told me his head was hot, and realized that his words and actions just weren't like him.

I am not sure I said many words as I entered the classroom, picked him up, gathered his things, and carried him down the stairs to the car.

He looked rough, and he didn't say another word after "mommy!"

I knew it was time to get it checked out.

I called and got an appointment for 3:30 today.

The pediatrician came to the same conclusion that I was thinking, and his father was speculating: sinus infection.

We picked up Thomas' first ever "pink medicine" at Walgreens and came home.

I guess Gracie wins this round. She didn't get her first antibiotic or her first non-wellness pediatrician visit until Kindergarten.

He should start to feel better in a few days and must take the medicine twice a day for 10 days.
