They Are Home
...and all is right with the world again.
What he told me about his day:
* He ate lunch beside Bryce
*There was no gym or art or "anyfing" like that.
*They took a rest on their nap mats. He says he fell asleep, but I somehow doubt that.
That was about all I got. Besides his favorite part of the day was riding the bus. His water bottle leaked or wasn't on tight so when I opened his backpack everything inside was soaking wet including his precious hand print art work his new school folder and classroom folder and all the papers I had to sign and return. After an hour "soak" in the very hot afternoon sun on the deck, they were dry. Rumpled and stained, but dry. So, we have a new $10 spill proof, leak-proof water bottle (seriously, $10! One of the many reasons I don't shop at Target!). He is beyond excited to tell everyone he went to "Kindergartens" today, but no one got any more details than I did.
What she told me about her day:
She had Thomas sit beside her on the bus in the back because the front was full. She held his hand when they got off and found a teacher looking for Kindergarteners. She said the teacher said to hug him goodbye and go to her classroom, so she did. But, she snuck in a kiss that he wiped off.
*She is loving her new teacher and had nothing but wonderful things to say. Generically wonderful since it was the first day, but I am happy she is happy.
*They had assigned seats for lunch, which she didn't like.
*She made friends with the new girl Julie who likes roller-coasters like she does.
* She loves her new pencil pouch and it makes "Everything easier"
*They had an assembly today to welcome everyone and go over school rules (Thomas did too, he just didn't mention it)
*Clara tried to gross her out again (so, life as usual with her best friend)
*She was too excited to eat, so she barely ate any lunch
*They got in 30 minutes of actual learning today. Something about oceans.
She tells me when she got to the bus Thomas was waiting for her next to the driver's seat and yelled out "Gracie!!" and hugged her and told her he missed her. I think that made her day. She walked him to the back and sat with him for the whole ride home.
