Recreating The Last Supper

Tonight was by far one of the most amazing experiences for me as a volunteer teacher.

This is my 3rd full year teaching the kids on Wednesday nights, and I have to say that this was my best idea!

After working for the past 10 weeks learning about the 12 disciples, I thought that a recreation of that last meal would really help instill the meaning of that evening and what it might have been like to be in the shoes of the 12 men than cherished Jesus.

These kids can be quite a handful, and to be honest, I can rarely get through a week without having to flash the lights or ring the bell or raise my voice significantly to regain their attention.  But, they all promised me I would have this one evening of excellent behavior--and they followed through!!!

My volunteer Jesus stepped right into the role and was amazing!!  Pastor Sandra led a communion for the kids and "Jesus" even washed their feet.

I sincerely hope that this evening sticks with them as much as it has--and will stick with me.

**I just had to recreate the painting of the Last Supper while they were all in costume and willing **
